A good read

  • For whom the bell tolls, Ernest Hemingway (engl.). Like his language. In my opinion a great piece of narrative journalism, even if it is not real journalism. “The least factual, the most actual.”
  • Der Fürst (Il principe); Niccolò Machiavelli (dt.). For my studies, always good for a quote. One of the most influential works in the history of Political science.
  • Ulysses; James Joyce (engl.). I, eventually, figured out the meaning of “stream of consciousness”. One of the most intense books I´ve ever read.
  • Vom Kriege; Carl von Clausewitz (dt.). Studies as well, and I can use it on my africa-positive thing.
  • De bello Gallico; Julius Cesar (lat.). It is supposed to be the easiest book written in Latin. Just to increase my understanding in languages though. Every single page a struggle.

Buying at amazon is way too easy, wasn´t around the Albertina in weeks. An evil plot of American right-wing book-retailer-CEOs to fight promiscuity. Guess that´s the meaning of: She has a bible between her legs…
