Come to violence-funland!

When I heard a couple of days ago about the kidnapping of three Israeli boys, I knew: SHTF.

And it did.

Instead of an proper investigation, the Netanjahu administration just runs the biggest campaign on Palestine soil in ten years. The IDF lay siege on Hebron. They took over 400 people prisoner: mostly activists of Hamas. They just took them, without charge, without knowing, without even a hint, that Hamas was behind the kidnapping.

There is a word in the Old Testament, in the Book of Exodus:
But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
What might sound harsh today was the voice of reason back then. If someone slaps you, you just don´t go and kill all of his family. You just slap him back. The very same phrase is part of the jewish Tanach it stands in the book of Shemot. Well, they are back in tribal wars now.

So far, Israeli soldiers have killed six Palestinians, a kid amongst them. They bombed the house of suspected (!) kidnappers and put the whole people of Gaza and the Westbank under a permanent threat. Sure, there was a reaction. Hamas radicals were engaging the border regions with primitive rockets. 18-, 19-year olds are throwing rocks on Israeli soldiers. Poor guys and girls, drafted into the military. And now they have to fight an angry mob that has not much to loose. Just because their fanatic right wing government decided to wreak havoc over the westbank.

Couple of years ago, there were huge demonstrations all over Israel. Young folks camping on the streets. Demanding jobs, demanding homes they could afford, demanding social security, better education, better infrastructure. Demanding all the things the civilized world has to offer. They demanded peace too.
There are many Israelis (Palestinians as well) who just want to live in peace. They don´t care about settlements in "Judea and Samaria" as the radical right calls the westbank. Just asking themselves: "Can´t we just all get along?"

But instead of getting Israels economy back on track, taking care of its people, the Netanjahu administration puts all his effort in settlements that are under international law illegal. Bibi went so crazy, he even managed to piss off the United States.

When the issue of boycott popped up, sanctions against companies benefitting from activities in the Westbank... Back then I read a quote of an Israeli woman (she was with an NGO). She criticized the policy of the Israeli government and said: "The United States, the EU should just leave us alone. See how things work out for us then."

This morning I read, they have found a 17-year old Palestine boy dead in Jerusalem. He was kidnapped yesterday. His corpse showed burn marks. Rumor has it that he was the victim of some radical Israelis seeking vengeance. Throwing tantrum on everyone.

I just can´t bear it any longer. There are children being kidnapped by mindless radicals on both sides. There are children being tortured and murdered. There are innocent people being killed, being beaten, held accountable for things some fanatics did, just because they belong to the same people. I am sorry for the Israelis as well as for the Palestine people. But I just have given up in believing in a peaceful solution. It´s just too much for me.
